We take this opportunity to encourage the New South Wales Government to consider a comprehensive, statewide sexual and reproductive health strategy with a focus on promoting healthy sexuality and fertility, safe sex practices, respectful relationships, active consent and the prevention of unintended pregnancy and sexually transmissible infections. Evidence-based education and effective contraception provided for free, are the two interventions with the greatest success in reducing rates of unintended pregnancy, and therefore abortion.
