Health Care Reform
The final report of the National Hospitals and Health Reform Commission has been released. The full report is available at: http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/Content/nhhrc-report
The report makes recommendations on indigenous health care, rural and remote health care, improved mental health service, improved access to dental health services, timely access to quality care in public hospitals, embedding prevention and early intervention, connecting and integrating health and aged care services, and much more.
Click here for the summary of recommendations.
The Prime Minister has suggested that there will be a six months or so for public comment and discussion on the recommendations, and time for consultation through the Council of Australian Governments (COAG).
NFAW proposes to engage in the consultation process. We encourage NFAW members to read the report, at a minimum read the recommendations, and in due course offer us your considered thoughts.
