Winter Tales 2008
Once again this winter, the ACT Group of the Australian Women’s Archive Project is holding a series of talks on Sunday afternoon. Three speakers will give their ‘take’ on life in Canberra, women’s lives, their choices, or lack of them, and prospects for the future.

Trailblazers: Migrant women activists

“To be poor, migrant and a woman is to achieve optimum disadvantage” (anon.) – and a new exhibition recognises the efforts of migrant women who aimed to diminish that disadvantage. Trailblazers records the untold story of the gutsy and spirited migrant women who fought for specialist medical, social, workplace and educational services for women of migrant backgrounds.
Marian Eldridge Award 2007

The 2007 Marian Eldridge Award was presented to Glenys Osborne in a ceremony as part of ACT writers week. This year the award included an offer of publication and discounts at writers workshops as well as the cash prize.
